Big Blue Blog
I've had better self esteem days then this, though dwelling on it isn't going to help much. It's hard to make myself write when I'm scared of the crap I might put down.
Also I tried to post another scene on Elfwood, but it got rejected because I wrote "S---." I'm well aware that everyone knows that's "shit." It's meant to be. I thought about it before I wrote it. The moderator had a snippy tone though and it made me mad. I just don't get this rule. Are they trying to pretend that swear words don't exist? They actually suggest if you want a swear to write "@#*%$!" Like a freaking cartoon. How censorous! I'm tempted to resubmit it and replace "S---" with "$#!7" Or something visually similar to the original word.
A weird thing happened to me, and I wish I could use it in a story. A little boy in one of my Mad Science classes went to the bathroom, and came back holding his prosthetic eye. "hey Flarin' Erin! I've got my eye on you! [giggles like a maniac]" It's a pretty good one. I always assumed he just had a lazy eye.
