Southern Indiana, kinda nice - 08/13/2003

We spent Monday and Tuesday in a real bed, with a real bathroom and shower. Thanks CJ and Melanie! We had a blast. Bloomington is a very nice town, with a definite college feel (I like that). We went to Columbus, IN to see CJ and his place of work and discovered a unique small town. It's considered one of the 10 most architecturally significant cities in the country (?), world (?), somewhere. The fire house is art deco, the jail has a huge glass dome, the mall has a giant metal & motor sculpture, etc etc. It's a very cool town.

CJ works for New Eagle, who has offices in a hangar by the airport. His boss has a place parked in the hangar part. Awesome.

Some movie notes:

Erin and I say League of Extraordinary Gentlemen at the $1.50 movie theater in town. It was a fun flick, but too heavy on the special effects and action and fighting. It needed a lot more "glue".

CJ and I (and sort-of Erin) watched Cube at his place. It was very interesting -- terrible acting and a little gory, but it had a clever premise and some well-done math stuff. Many times this comes out hokey, but they did a good job.
