We're in Los Angeles and life sucks - 02/10/2004

Lots of things happening:

1. Northern San Diego county, which has places likes Carlsbad and Oceanside, is fantastic! Erin and I would both really love to live there. The weather is indescribably perfect, one could go surfing in the morning and rock climbing in the afternoon, followed by amazing fish 'n chips at Al's Cafe.

2. Sammy Studios would be my dream place to work. The feel of the office space is that of a hip graphic design firm. They're a new company, so they are doing lots of exciting ground-up things, and will be making some great games.

3. Sammy Studios needs to pull their heads out of their asses and recognize good talent and enthusiasm. Needless to say, they turned me down for no good reason, at least none I could see or be told of.

4. We're in Los Angeles now. It's a little better than I expected. There are definitely pockets of cool neighborhoods. Overall it's a sprawling mess, though. We're staying with my old roommate and friend Patrick, who is attending Cal Arts and living in Studio City, across the mountains in the valley. Frank Zappa's song 'Valley Girl' is perpetually stuck in my head out here.
