Tourists like the Dollywood - 08/20/2003
Our plan tonight was to sleep in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Pigeon Forge, KY, home of Dollywood and a billion other tourist-related shops. This place is eerily like Branson, MO. Cheesy country theater shows, mile after mile of hotels, restaurants, T-shirt shops, go-kart tracks, mini-golf courses, and lazer tag places. Anyway, the city does not allow overnight stays in Wal-Mart parking lots. Seeing as campsites were relatively expensive and hotels were relatively cheap, we opted on a $27 hotel room. As fortune would have it, the hotel we picked only had one room left, the jacuzzi room, which was given to us at the regular room rate. Whee! A comfy bed, shower, lots of A/C, cable TV, and a jacuzzi, for only a few bucks more than a campsite! Out of shape bouldering
