Adventures in Houston - 09/21/2003

We spent 5 days in Houston visiting Erin's dad. They have a lovely home in a suburb called Missouri City. My old friend Martin, who lives in Houston now, cooked an amazing dinner for Erin and I. Thanks dude! We also visited Space Center Houston and went on a tour of the Johnson Space Center, where Erin's dad works. It was pretty cool. We saw the historic mission control room that was in use up until the 1990s.

We also went to an RV dealer and wandered around the lot, looking at all kinds of RVs. Some of those monster class A's are pretty amazing. Erin's dad is going through an RV-envy phase, I think. Some folks at the lot offered us free hot dogs and free camping for two nights at this membership-only campground chain called Thousand Trails. Hmm. Sounds fishy, and it turns out, the catch is 90 minutes of our time while they try to sell us on the place. We signed up for one just outside of San Antonio, so we'll see if it's worth it....
