Carlsbad Caverns - 09/24/2003
We made it across Texas. Damn that's a big state. Basically from San Antonio to Carlsbad, NM is NOTHING. Incredible.
But we made it. Carlsbad Caverns is cool. We hiked down the natural entrance, then walked around the Big Room. It's a very impressive cave. Go there. And make sure you stay for the bat flight at night. Around 300,000 bats fly out of the cave. That's a lot of bats. Sorry, no pictures though; the rangers insisted on turning off your flash, because that high-pitched charging noise you might hear from your flash disturbs the bats.
